Bio
Brandon leads a neuroscience research group exploring how the brain integrates signals from the body to guide social behavior. His work focuses on the interactions between neural circuits, hormones, and metabolism, with the goal of understanding how internal state changes the way animals respond to their social environment.
His interest in neuroscience grew from a broader curiosity about how biological systems produce flexible behavior. During his early research training, he studied the relationship between cellular signaling and behavior, developing an appreciation for experiments that connect molecular mechanisms with the activity of defined neural circuits.
In subsequent training, Brandon combined behavioral analysis with approaches for measuring and manipulating neural activity. These experiences shaped his interest in how endocrine and metabolic signals influence social decisions, and in building tools that make it possible to study those interactions across multiple levels of biological organization.
In the Logeman Lab, he aims to build a collaborative environment where researchers can ask ambitious questions and learn from one another. Alongside the lab's scientific work, he values thoughtful mentorship, clear communication, and helping trainees develop the confidence and practical skills to pursue their own research ideas.
